The Golden State Warriors entered their matchup with the Boston Celtics on a hot streak, having won 11 of their last 13 games. However, they were met with a harsh reality as the Celtics dominated them in a 140-88 blowout, marking the worst loss of Stephen Curry's career.

After the game, Curry graciously praised the Celtics, acknowledging them as the best team in the NBA at that moment.

"I don't know what they talked about in the locker room. We played them but now four times since so I'm sure that [NBA Finals] narrative has gotten old, but they are the best team in the league right now and they play like it," he underlined.

"The way that they've been playing, they seem very sure of themselves in their identity and who they are," Curry added about the Celtics. "Give them credit. They came out and whooped us tonight from the jump, and it was one of those perfect storms of a rough day on our end and them taking it to us."

The defeat marked the fourth-worst loss in franchise history for the Warriors.

Curry's struggles were evident as he finished with a season-low four points, not returning to the game after halftime. He shot 2 of 13 from the field and missed all nine of his 3-point attempts.

"They're hitting 10 threes in in the 1st quarter, that's what we used to do to teams," Curry said. "It's kinda demoralizing, especially on the road, when a shot that you're comfortable giving up, they're taking advantage of."

Listed as questionable with right knee bursitis, Curry went through warmups and made the decision to play. The Celtics left the court at halftime to a standing ovation, holding a commanding 82-38 lead.

"No regrets on how we approached it," Curry said. "A good learning lesson for us to take the hit that we took tonight but not let it linger into another game because we've been on a hole playing some solid basketball. Wash it down the drain pretty quickly."
