Meanwhile, Luka Doncic delivered his 16th triple-double of the season, marking his 72nd career triple-double with an impressive stat line of 39 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.
In addition, Doncic managed to silence the Little Caesars Arena crowd, which began chanting "Luka sucks" early in the game.
However, the Slovenian responded in tremendous fashion, scoring 19 of his 21 second-quarter points in the last 6:59.
"I don't know why would they do that," Doncic addressed the chants in the post-game conference. "I love it. They know it's not true, and they keep going, so I don't know."
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd dismissed the notion:
"Well, we know he doesn't suck," he noted.
Doncic became the first NBA player to achieve six consecutive 30-point triple-doubles, surpassing Russell Westbrook's previous record of five. Additionally, he extended his own record with a fifth consecutive 35-point triple-double.
"That just shows what level he's playing on right now," Kidd said. "He knows he can score the ball, and he's also able to find his teammates and lastly, he's able to rebound the ball."
