"He got game. He was my teammate in Brooklyn. Like, a lot of guys have their stay in the NBA or never really get a chance to make it to the NBA. They build their self of careers overseas. Mike has done a really good job over his career when things didn't work out in the NBA, he didn't put his head down. He continued to work. As a result, he's got the most buckets overseas," Harden praised James, via Tomer Azarly.
"Just credit to him," he continued. "Shoutout to him for staying consistent, for staying with it, and showing the guys who don't make it to the NBA or don't have a long stint in the NBA that they still can have a very good career professionally and make a lot of money to provide to their family. Shoutout to Mike James."
James and Harden crossed paths in Brooklyn in 2021, where the current Monaco player averaged 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 13 regular-season games.
After scoring 20 points in a 98-80 victory over Crvena Zvezda on Thursday, Mike James now holds the top spot overall with a post-game total of 4,464 points. He achieved this milestone in just 271 games, surpassing the Greek legend Spanoulis, who took 358 games to reach his total of 4,455 points.
Previously, James received praise from NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic.
