With 46.1 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Baskonia's Tadas Sedekerskis converted a layup to push Baskonia's lead to 11 (103-92), and Barca's head coach Roger Grimau took a timeout.

As the local crowd in Fernando Buesa Arena was celebrating the win with the club's dancers and mascot performing in the middle of the court, one of the lights fell almost directly on their heads.

The light fell centimeters away from one of the dancers. Showing their full professionalism, neither the dancers nor the mascot stopped their routine. When the dancers left the court, the arena's workers started tidying up the place.

Following the incident, Baskonia released an official statement, saying it was one of the video scoreboard lights. The club has requested a report from the venue's technical team and will begin an investigation into why it happened.

The next day after the incident, Baskonia announced they had made the decision to terminate the contract with the arena's technical supplier. It was determined to have been a human error by one of the technicians. Baskonia added that the club reserves the right to take legal action.
