Citing his injury problems, Porter Jr. decided to end his basketball career.
For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA. That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire," the player wrote in a message.
Throughout his career, Porter Jr. represented six different teams - Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Orlando Magic. He became an NBA champion with the Warriors in 2022.
Porter Jr. held the averages of 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists throughout his 11 years in the NBA.
