"I know how it is, and I try to tell people, 'Mental health is serious.' So, I had to go get a therapist after that. If it wasn't for my two boys, I would have killed myself," Wall said. "I put a gun to my head twice. And a lot of people that [are] close to me and my friends at the time didn't know," he recalled.
For Wall, the presence of his two children was what helped him to keep going, as he disdained the idea of leaving them behind.
"I had a gun to my head twice. I wanted to commit suicide, and I was like, 'Man, if I take myself away from this earth, I'm failing my kids. Who is going to be there to raise them?..'" he said emotionally. "I take it from them; that ain't fair to me. I know I gotta be there for them," he stated.
Wall has been away from the NBA since the beginning of 2023. He has often talked about his struggles with his mental health, which he often mentions were particularly hard to deal with during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agile guard, who was named to the NBA All-Star five times in the past, is not retired, however, and remains in pursuit of an opportunity to return to the NBA.
