This transformation has been accompanied by an uptick in performance, with Williamson emerging as a leading scorer for the team, averaging 22.6 points over 56 games.
The turning point seemed to be the Pelicans' brush with elimination from the In-Season Tournament on Dec. 8. Since then, Williamson's game has flourished, boasting 23.9 points per game on 62.5 percent shooting success rate as of March.
The positive momentum extends beyond Williamson, permeating the Pelicans' overall performance. The team has enjoyed a winning streak, triumphing in eight out of their last ten matches.
Another significant factor contributing to Williamson's improved performance is his sustained health throughout the season. Unlike previous campaigns marred by injuries, he has managed to steer clear of major setbacks this time around.
Williamson struggled with a right hamstring injury last season and missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to a broken right foot. Additionally, he was sidelined for the first three months of the 2019-20 campaign due to a knee injury.
