As the regular season is upon its end for the 2023-24 EuroLeague, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade is already planning its future by working on a contract extension for Zeljko Obradovic.

In an interview with Serbian newspaper Kurir, the club's president, Ostoja Mijailovic, revealed that the club is working accordingly.

"Partizan is proud of last night's victory [against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in Round 30], which motivates us to be even better in the following games in all competitions. For that, first of all, we need an excellent team," Mijailovic began.

"Therefore, we are determined to continue cooperation with our coach, Zeljko Obradovic. The contract is in the final stage and will be signed as soon as both parties agree on a few more details," revealed the club president.

The most decorated coach in European history also mentioned a contract extension, and Mijalovic's statements seem to confirm the rumors. He also gestured as if he was signing a contract in yesterday's win against Baskonia to fans asking for an extension from the stands.

"We know that our fans, as well as the entire public, are very interested in this topic, but we believe that such agreements are made peacefully, without any pressure, and in accordance with the goals of our black-and-white family," said the president about the air surrounding the extension.

"I also received some, I must say so, down-to-earth comments regarding whether someone is ordering me to extend or not to extend the contract with the coach. Such things say more about those who say them, and I do not want to allow myself to comment on them," he said about certain rumors.

"For seven years at the club, where I always made decisions in the interest of Partizan, no one ever interfered in making them, except for members of the Board and management, with whom it is natural for me to consult," he continued. "Our results speak for how we have worked so far."

Mijalovic concluded his remarks by pointing out the progress made by Partizan from being a Basketball Champions League squad to returning to the highest stage of European basketball.

"Sometimes it sounds boring, but for the sake of those who easily forget, I have to remind myself once again where the club was in 2017 and where it is today," he said.

With just 4 rounds remaining towards the end of the regular season, Partizan currently has a record of 14-16.
