However, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens won 89-76 in the Belgrade Arena, leaving its opponent with only 10 wins in 30 games.
Teodosic admitted in a conversation with journalists after the game that it is difficult for players to motivate themselves when they know there's no chance to advance.
"It's difficult to play games like this, without any real significance for us -- even the referees' criteria didn't work for us," the veteran point guard stressed.
"And in situations like this, we should use everything we have for what's coming. Whenever this number of fans shows up, we need to repay them and play to the maximum and to the end every time. It's also a question of showing character, we need to build it until the end of the season," said Teodosic after the game and added:
"We lacked a bit of luck. Panathinaikos are a great team that is made for great things. We resisted in some parts of the game, but they were a shade better. Anytime we could get a layup, they would grab an offensive rebound or make a 3-pointer. Not to analyze the game so much, but I'm satisfied with the way we played," the 37-year-old Serbian player noted.
Teodosic thinks hereturned to action before his time.
"I miss practice and games, but since Yago dos Santos was injured, I probably came back earlier than I should have. I'm not going to whine about it, I want to use the matches to get into a rhythm and prepare as well as possible," he concluded.
