"Certain scouting and team formation was done poorly," he noted, according to Sport Klub.

"After that, injuries followed. I don't want to use that as an alibi, but as something that actually happened," he pointed out. "We almost never had a full roster. We started with [Nikola] Topic, he got injured, then [Milos] Teodosic...I can't list them all."

Covic emphasized that this is the 13th season he has been with Red Star and that the club has won 23 trophies during that time.

"No club in this area has had that in the last 13 years," he commented and then claimed thatthere's a hostile media campaign against certain players.

"I think everyone sees clearly what it is," he said.

"There is some strange treatment towards Red Star, but let's move on. The matches go so fast that you don't have time to rejoice or suffer."

Covic confirmed that Yago dos Santos left the hospital on Wednesday, where he was successfully operated after an accidental injury.

"His frontal bone was fractured from the elbow blow. Then, a mutual foul was called, which is quite interesting. Thank God, the operation went well, he feels well, and we should expect him on the court with a special mask in seven to ten days," he disclosed.

Covic responded to Partizan heralding their game against Real Madrid as a spectacle. He reiterated that the spectacle is always when there is a big game, when there are a lot of people and when there are no insults.

"I see that some people are making statements about how they control their emotions. I congratulate them on that control of emotions, especially when you spit all the time while the game is being played," he ironically argued.

"I blame it on our fans and I'm not a supporter of all that, but we obviously live in such times. I hope that the sport will remain in the foreground, and not insults to players, participants, and even families will occur," Covic emphasized.

"It is not appropriate to spread hatred," Covic continued.

"On the one hand, you play the role of a great gentleman, and on the other hand, you influence such things as spreading hatred. We are the same people, these are our biggest clubs", he concluded.
