Mo Bamba was named as one of such players, seemingly being one of the players who supposedly do not represent the African American culture or its stereotype.
Bamba took offense and decided to push back on X, formerly Twitter.
"Alright, I got time today. I'm a top 5 black-white guy because I can properly articulate how I feel & how I see things?" Mamba wrote. "You a smart man, do your research. I'm not a gangsta to any capacity but I'm born & raised from Harlem. I made it off the block & out the trenches."
"Secondly, sitting there with your legs crossed like that & asking your white co-host to publicly question my blackness is one of the reasons why it's hard to move the culture forward," Bamba said in another post.
During March 15th's game between Bamba's Philadelphia 76ers and Beverley's Milwaukee Bucks, Beverley rolled the ball toward Bamba during the final seconds of the game, ironically giving him the match ball.
Beverley and Bamba have previously shared a conflict before. Namely, Beverley reportedly hunted Bamba down in the parking lot, according to Terrence Ross.
