McAdoo has previously held the record since 1990. The two-time NBA champion played in Milan for three seasons from 1988 until 1990, averaging a whopping 25.8 points per game.
Shields needed four seasons to surpass the mark. He scored 10 points against Monaco and now has 1298 points in his tally, surpassing McAdoo's 1292.
The highest point average in Milan's history belongs to Bill Bradley, who represented the team during the 1965-66 season, averaging 26.5 points per game in 12 contests. Bradley's team went on to win the then-FIBA European Champions Cup (now EuroLeague).
