According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, there is "a very real chance" that the Turkish center is cleared to start playing at the end of the regular season.

Windhorst also stated that the Rockets would have a stronger incentive to try and prepare Sengun for a possible return if they are able to make it to the postseason and compete in the play-in tournament.

The Turkish star went down on March 11, 2024, when he landed awkwardly on his feet after contesting Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings.

While MRI scans revealed that Sengun had avoided a major injury, it was still believed that he would be out for the entirety of the season. At the time, the Rockets were out of the postseason picture.

However, with 8 successive victories, the Rockets are now ranked 11th, being one victory away from the 10th spot. Therefore, Sengun's return is a desirable potentiality for the Houston team, provided that they survive the regular season.

Sengun has been one of the primary driving factors behind the Rockets' relatively strong season. He has averages of 21.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5 assists in what is his best season so far in three years.
