After the win against the 76ers, Sabonis's head coach, Mike Brown, praised his player and called on elements of the NBA to consider the center in their MVP deliberations.
"Shout out to Domas. Man, what a job. What a phenomenal, phenomenal year he's having. Obviously, he should have been an All-Star. Obviously, he should be talked about for first, second, third All-NBA [teams]," Brown said. "And he should be in the MVP discussions with the way that he's playing."
This is also his 25th triple-double. He's up there with guys like Oscar Robertson, [Nikola] Jokic, Bill Russell, and Russell Westbrook," the coach continued, putting Sabonis up there with quality company. "That is un-freaking-believable," he said, applauding his players afterward. "
Hell of a job, buddy; that is big time. I hope he gets a lot of praise because it's definitely well deserved."
