In the final moments, Oubre drove to the basket but didn't get a foul call despite contact from Paul George. This meant he missed a chance to shoot game-winning free throws.
Following the 108-107 loss, Oubre and coach Nick Nurse furiously approached the referees -- Kevin Scott, JB Derosa, and Brandon Adair -- immediately after the game ended and needed to be restrained by assistants.
"You're a b*tch. You're a b*tch. You're a b*tch," Oubre reportedly said to the referees before he was pulled away.
"Yo mom's a b*tch, yo dad's a b*tch, yo grandma's a b*tch," he allegedly continued the tirade.
After the game, Oubre acknowledged his overreaction, attributing it to the intensity of the game and expressing guilt for losing his composure.
He also apologized for his excessive behavior and accepted any potential league-imposed penalties.
"First and foremost, heat of the moment," Oubre tried to justify his actions after the final buzzer. "This is an intense basketball game, of course. And we're not perfect. The refs aren't perfect. I want to apologize for just losing my cool, because that's something I try to work on each and every day, and try to represent God in the best way I possibly can, and that wasn't it. So I just ask for forgiveness.
"But I saw Coach Nurse getting riled up and if our coach is gonna fight for us and he's going there, then I'm right behind him. But at the end of the day, it wasn't cool. So I'll take whatever penalties come with that and you have to move on, but I gotta be better in a sense."
The officials later admitted they should have called a foul on Paul George, validating Oubre's frustration.
