"I got accused rightfully so for a lot of my time career for being a complete a**hole," Armstrong admitted. "I mean that a lot of times to be the absolute best, you just kind of have to be an a**hole sometimes, if not most of the time."
Griffin chimed in, pointing out the misconceptions that ordinary people have about certain NBA players, accusing them of being "a**holes" when they are simply "ultra-competitive." Armstrong echoed this sentiment, singling out Golden State Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green.
"He comes off like an a**hole," Armstrong said. "But I've communicated with this guy, he's different in person, there's just some switch that goes off when he gets on the court. I'm like, 'Dude?'
"He's done some nuts stuff. But if you met the guy on an airplane or at a dinner party, you'd say this guy's great," he continued. "He's smart, he's great conversation, I want to hang out with this dude. He's got like some tick, it's a little issue."
Throughout his career, Green has faced multiple suspensions, including two this season: a 5-game suspension for escalating an on-court altercation and forcibly grabbing Rudy Gobert around the neck and a 12-game suspension for striking Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
