There was no representative of Buducnost Podgorica at the Assembly, while Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade did not vote.
At the Assembly, an agreement was reached that the ABA league will have 16 members, that no one will be eliminated from the elite competition, and that the bottom-placed team will play a play-off match with the finalist of the second division.
An issue that stalled the process was about whether only SC Derbi, or SC Derbi, Borac from Cacak and Split should be included in the ownership structure. It was decided that SC Derbi be accepted into the ownership structure immediately, and that the admission of the other two clubs should be discussed until the end of June.
In the meantime, the president of Buducnost, Dragan Bokan, emphasized that Dubai's participation in the ABA League is still uncertain, until the problem of the ownership structure is solved by a unanimous decision of the clubs.
At the same time, based on the proposal of the Serbia NT coach Svetislav Pesic, the KLS Presidency made a conditional decision to take Dubai under its wing, which means that the club from the UAE will also sponsor the Serbian league if the negotiations with the ABA league fail. If such a proposal were to be voted on, all costs would be covered by Dubai.
However, since the offer of the team from the United Arab Emirates was accepted by the ABA League, Dubai is closer to the regional competition than it its to the Serbian league.
