Flynn's 50 points, 33 of which came in the second half, made him only the third player in NBA history to score the most points off the bench. The other two players are Jamal Crawford (51 points on April 9, 2019) and Nick Anderson (50 points on April 23, 1993).
"It's tough [to put in perspective] because at the end of the day, you want to win," Flynn said after the game. "But it does feel good to kind of take in the moment. I'm sure a couple of days from now, it will feel really good."
The Detroit guard went 18-of-25 from the field and made 9-of-12 from the line while adding six rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 34 minutes.
Flynn, whose previous career-high was 27 points, had been only averaging 5.2 points per game in his career before his scoring explosion today.
