The Clippers beat Jokic's Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, inching closer to a top-four finish in the regular season. Jokic recorded a triple-double of 36 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists, but it wasn't enough for the win.
Years after his prime, Westbrook started off the bench, contributing with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
"Well, listen, ain't nobody like me. Ain't nobody like me. We're gonna stop there," Westbrook said about triple-doubles. "Nobody like me. Nikola is one hell of a player but he's not me, and I'm not him. Obviously, he's won MVP twice. A tough guard, excellent passer, knows how to play the right way, competes every single night. Tonight we got the best of him."
Westbrook is the all-time triple-double leader in NBA history with 198 under his belt. Jokic, meanwhile, has 129. Westbrook was the first player in the modern NBA since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double in a season, which earned him an MVP trophy during the 2016-17 season.
