This victory has secured their place in the top six with one round remaining in the EuroLeague regular season, ensuring their participation in the playoffs.

According to regulations, confirmed by BasketNews sources, a club competing under the EuroCup winner's license automatically secures its spot in the following season's EuroLeague if it qualifies for the playoffs.

Roca Team won the EuroCup in the 2021 season. Since then, they have consistently made the EuroLeague playoffs each year, reaching the Final Four in 2023.

Besides Monaco, only Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Olympiacos Piraeus have achieved three consecutive playoff appearances since 2022. Maccabi Tel Aviv will join this exclusive list if they advance through the Play-In this season

The situation is more complex for the other five teams - Partizan Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, ALBA Berlin, Virtus Bologna, and Valencia Basket - competing for what will likely be four remaining spots to maintain their position in the tournament, given that the EuroCup champions will hopefully enter the competition next season.

Paris Basketball and JL Bourg en Bresse are scheduled to begin the EuroCup final series on April 9th.

Road to EuroLeague: What can each of the EuroCup semi-finalists bring to the table?

Besides Monaco, sports merit won't carry much weight except for one condition. According to EuroLeague regulations, only the EuroLeague champions automatically secure participation in the tournament the following year.

But regardless of which teams make the playoffs or the Final Four, the EuroLeague will consider other factors that will play a decisive role in allocating the wildcards.

BasketNews has examined their current status and the arguments they might present to justify their continued participation in the EuroLeague.
