Following the El Clasico defeat, head coach Chus Mateo took to the press room, where he began by congratulating Barcelona on their victory: "Barca is a very good team and has played very well."
Then responding to a journalist's question, Mateo highlighted the unusual circumstance of both his centers, Walter Tavares and Vincent Poirier, being eliminated from the game.
"It happened in the final stretch of the game. It's not normal for the team's two centers to have 10 fouls. We don't have to think about it any further," he said.
Tavares and Poirier combined for 10 points. Tavares logged 19 minutes on the court, while Poirier appeared for nearly the same duration.
Despite the loss, Real (23-5) maintain a four-win lead over Barca (19-9) in the ACB League standings, with Los Blancos sharing the top spot alongside Unicaja Malaga.
