Harding, who was named the 2024 G League Coach of the Year, guided the Stockton Kings to the Western Conference Finals in her debut season.

A former No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA draft, Harding enjoyed a nine-season playing career in the league before transitioning to coaching.

She has served as a development coach for both the Philadelphia 76ers and the Sacramento Kings.

In addition to Harding, the Hornets have also been granted permission to interview four NBA assistant coaches for the head coaching role: David Adelman from Denver, Charles Lee from Boston, Jordi Fernandez from Sacramento, and Kevin Young from Phoenix, according to sources from ESPN.

At the end of the season, Hornets coach Steve Clifford will transition to a position within the team's front office.
