"I am happy here, my two children are from Madrid, we love the culture, the city, the way the people are, the way they live, and what Real Madrid represents."
"How things are inside the club, its spirit and desire to win as we have seen recently in the Champions League against Bayern... Being here is very fulfilling for me and it makes me improve [every day], because you can't relax, you must always give your all to win. You never know, although I hope I stay," Tavares added.
The 32-year-old also assured that the fact that he's on an expiring contract doesn't bother him on the court.
"No, it doesn't affect me. People have said that if I wasn't so good, it was because of the renewal, and it wasn't because of that, but because of everything that has happened to me this season, which just coincided with when it was my turn to renew. Finishing my contract doesn't stop me from playing.

You must always do things well because then what is yours and what you expect will come. Or not, but you have to do your best, and it will be seen. You can't save energy or think that if you get injured, you won't have a contract here or anywhere else," Tavares noted.
When asked about the upcoming EuroLeague semifinal against Olympiacos, Tavares said he expects the Greek powerhouse to be hungry for revenge for last year's final.
"I remember that when we lost by one point against Efes (in 2022), our motivation to reach the final and try again was very big. And we got it. I suppose something similar will be against Olympiacos," Tavares concluded.
