After Spain's nail-biting loss to Slovenia, head coach Sergio Scariolo had high praise for Luka Doncic after the game. Despite locking horns with Slovenian superstar during the game, the coach only had positive things to say about him and his team.

"This is a good team. This is not only Doncic. I am pleased about how Luka read the situation and reacted to that. He showed his class, his mental toughness, his competitiveness, and his understanding of what was going on. We almost accomplished what we wanted to do, but you have to give credit to the opponent. They have very talented and competitive players besides Luka."

Before the upcoming quarterfinal draw, Scariolo said that his team is not ready for next opponent yet. As time showed, the Spaniards will face Team USA.

Coach Scariolo spoke about a possible upcoming matchup: "We are just in recovery mode now, we are not ready for the next opponent, even if basically this is what we have in front of us, what we have left. We have to rejuvenate in one day and get ready to compete like we always did.

This is a team that's been legendary in the world of basketball for being able to compete throughout the years, regardless of players who were in, regardless of the generations which were involved. We just have to keep being ourselves, keep our any identity, that's it."
