Joe Tsai, the owner of the Nets, is conducting personal meetings with all three coaches to determine the most feasible one for the job.
Budenholzer previously coached the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018-2023 and won the NBA championship in 2021. He was also named the NBA's coach of the year in 2015 with the Atlanta Hawks and in 2019 with the Milwaukee Bucks. He is currently not working with any team.
As for Kevin Young, he is an experienced assistant coach currently working for the Phoenix Suns under Frank Vogel.
Finally, Jordi Fernandez should be familiar to European fans, who most recently won the third-place game with Canada in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He is currently working as an assistant of Mike Brown in the Sacramento Kings.
Brooklyn Nets have been on a head coach search after the firing of Jacque Vaughn in mid-February 2024. They are currently on the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference and will miss the NBA post-season.
