In a post-game interview, the team's superstar, Nikola Jokic, talked about how the team pulled through for a great season and what he is looking forward to most during their brief break.
"A lot of trusting each other. I think our defense, especially after the break, is good. We are running much better. Playing together more, it's probably just [about] experience too," Jokic said about the 57-25 record of the Nuggets.
More important on Jokic's agenda were his plans for the break.
"It's good. To be honest, I am excited. I need to hurry home," the center said. "We opened a pool yesterday or two days ago, so I am kind of excited to spend a couple of days with my daughter on the pool. That, for me, is exciting right now," he revealed.
Regardless of how he or his teammates will be passing the break, the Joker is under the impression that the break will help to rejuvenate the team and rebuild their motivation for the most competitive part of the NBA season.
"It's going to help. Just to heal up, just to [get to] want to play again, just to get the joy back... The playoffs are coming, so the fun part is starting. The weather looks good," he concluded.
In a highly productive season for him, Nikola Jokic averaged an almost triple-double of 26.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9 assists on 58.2% field goal shooting. According to the latest Kia Race to the MVP Ladder (April 14), he is seen as the favorite for this year's MVP award.
