The 55-year-old Italian tactician initially joined Zalgiris in January under a two-year contract with an exit clause set for the summer of 2024.
The newly negotiated agreement would remove the termination clause for 2024, ensuring his presence for the 2024-25 season.
Before Trinchieri's tenure, Zalgiris was on a six-game losing streak and held a 5-12 record, which placed them in 16th place. After Trinchieri's arrival, Zalgiris experienced a turnaround, securing nine victories in 17 games.
This included an impressive streak of four consecutive wins at home and notable victories against tough opponents such as the 2nd-seeded Panathinaikos and play-in teams Baskonia, Virtus, and Anadolu Efes.
Under Trinchieri's leadership, Zalgiris achieved a top 10 offensive rating and a top 5 defensive rating in the EuroLeague (per BBallytics).
Zalgiris concluded the season in 14th place with 14 victories and 20 losses.
