Grizzlies' Dillon Brooks suspended one game for 16th technical foul
Memphis Grizzlies wing Dillon Brookshas been suspended one game without pay for receiving his 16thtechnical foul of the 2022-23 season, it was announced today by NBAexecutive vice president and head of basketball operations JoeDumars.
Under NBA rules, a player or coach isautomatically suspended without pay for one game once he receiveshis 16thtechnical foul during the regular season.For every two additional technical fouls received during thatseason, the player or coach will be suspended without pay for anadditional game.
Brooks received his most recenttechnical foul with 5:45 remaining in the fourth quarter of theGrizzlies’ 113-97 loss to the Denver Nuggets on March 3 at BallArena.
Brooks will serve his suspension onSunday when the Grizzlies face the Los Angeles Clippers atCrypto.com Arena.
Memphis will also be without JaMorant, who is stepping away from the team for at least the nexttwo games "to get help" after a string of concerning incidents, andBrandon Clarke, who is out for the remainder of the season aftersuffering a torn Achilles.
The Grizzlies are 38-24, which is thesecond-best record in the Western Conference.
This season, Brooks is averaging 14.4points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 threes, while shooting38.9% from the field, 31.9% from three-point range and 79.4% fromthe free-throw line.
