Chicago Bulls forward Onuralp Bitim has been dealt a tough blow, as he has been diagnosed with a detached retina in his right eye, sidelining him for the remainder of the postseason. This health issue requires a season-ending surgery, according to the official team's announcement.

Bitim, who hails from Turkey, had just wrapped up his rookie NBA season. Starting out on a two-way contract, he earned his spot on Chicago's standard roster in February.

The 25-year-old appeared in 22 games for the Bulls, averaging 3.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per contest.

Bitim's standout performance came against the Dallas Mavericks on March 12, where he notched a career-high 17 points, despite the team ultimately falling short.

Chicago faces a do-or-die Play-In Tournament game vs. the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
