According to the red-and-white club's statement, the attack took place this morning during team practice, the same day that Game 3 of the ABA League finals between the two teams will be played.

Meridian Sport were the first to report the incident.

Photographs provided by the club show that Lazarevic is visibly hurt, as his left eye is bruised and cut.

The press statement also stated that an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia is underway. Furthermore, the club noted that they have submitted a disciplinary report to the ABA League.

Accordingly, the club expects the ABA League to unleash harsh sanctions, such as the immediate disqualification and temporary removal of Nunnally from the competition and the upcoming Game 3.

The ABA League is aware of the incident and has now sent a disciplinary judge to Belgrade to gather all required information about the event, SportKlub reports.

Police have started an investigation, Mozzart Sport report. They are currently at the Arena reviewing video footage, the outlet writes.

Partizan is expected to release an official statement in the coming hours.

There was an incident between the two players during Game 2 of the ABA League Finals this week when Nunnally grabbed Lazarevic by the neck while fighting for a rebound.

So far, the 2023-24 ABA League finals, where Crvena Zvezda are up 2-0, are quite tense. Another point of contention raised by Partizan was the performance of the referees, which the two clubs highly disagree upon to the point of hostility.
