Grizzlies' Steven Adams will undergo season-ending surgery

Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams will undergo season-endingsurgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament, afternon-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing kneeinstability, the team announced today. Adams is expected to make afull recovery ahead of next season.

Last season, Adams appeared in 42 games, averaging 8.6 points,11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 blocks, while shooting 59.7%from the field.

Adams has been out since January, missing the entirety of theGrizzlies' playoff run. Memphis will also be without superstarguard Ja Morant for 25 games as a result of his NBA suspension.

Last season, the Grizzlies won 51 games and finished as the No.2 seed in the Western Conference.
