Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler could miss a lot of time after reportedly sustaining an MCL injury in his knee during the Heat's game with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

If confirmed, the injury could sideline Butler for an indefinite period.

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters after the game that they have yet to receive official news on Butler's status.

"It really stiffened up on him in the second half... it started to limit him a little more. We have no idea right now, we'll see when we get back to Miami," said Spoelstra.

The Heat lost out on the 7th seed after falling to the Sixers, 105-104, in the Play-In Tournament. They await the winner of the Bulls-Hawks game for a chance at the 8th spot.
