Not only did Batum score 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, but he also blocked Tyler Herro's three-pointer with 26.9 seconds remaining until the end of the 4th quarter to seal the 105-104 victory.
In remarks to Daniel Olinger, Batum explained how he anticipated the Heat play and made the block to become the game's hero for the 76ers.
"Coaches showed me that play literally like a minute ago, so we were expecting that play for them to go around, catch it, go to the right, and shoot it," Batum explained. "That's exactly the play they showed me like a minute ago, so I was expecting it."
While a relatively simple explanation, the block itself ended up being a crucial play that saved the Philadelphia 76ers' post-season. With the win against the Heat, the Philadelphia team will play the first-round playoff series against the New York Knicks.
