Besides Barcelona, Belgrade and Abu Dhabi are also in the running to host the event, per the same report.
After many months of work and discussions with all involved parties, the Barcelona City Council has decided to pursue the candidacy independently, pending the decision of the future Government of Catalonia.
The event would be held at Palau Sant Jordi, an indoor multi-purpose arena built in 1990 and renovated in 2014.
Palau Sant Jordi has previously hosted three EuroLeague Final Fours: in 1998, 2003, and 2011. It also hosted the FIBA EuroBasket 1997 from the quarterfinals onwards and the 2012 Copa del Rey. The arena has a maximum seating capacity of 17,960.
This would be the sixth Final Four held in Spain in modern EuroLeague history (since 2002), with previous events hosted in Madrid, Barcelona, and Vitoria.
