Although Bahcesehir won tonight's game at Istanbul with a score of 105-95 after overtime, they were defeated 85-74 in the first leg of the tournament and, therefore, could not attain the 12+ deficit they needed for the championship.
The heartbreaking loss was also a shock for Dejan Radonjic's team, which have a roster full of high-profile players, such as Tyler Cavanaugh, Jerry Boutsiele, Tony Taylor, and Trey Kell.
They were the favorites by far to win the trophy, but Chemnitz's organized playstyle disrupted the Turkish team's free-flowing offenses.
As a result, Chemnitz won their first Europe Cup, while Bahcesehir was not able to reach their second trophy in the competition, having won their first in the 2021-22 season.
