Minnesota Timberwolves are on the brink of a first-round sweep against the Phoenix Suns, having secured a 3-0 series lead with a 126-109 victory on Friday night.

Anthony Edwards led the charge with a 36-point performance, while Rudy Gobert made his presence felt with 19 points and 14 rebounds. However, it was Edwards who stole the spotlight on social media with his celebratory antics, channeling the iconic WWE superstar Triple H with his signature gesture.

With three minutes to go in the game, Edwards unleashed a pinpoint full-court pass to Gobert, who drew a foul and converted an and-one layup. Edwards then flashed the DX chop celebration, grinning at both the opposing team and their fans.

"I was trying to get Rudy to do it with me, but he'd never make eye contact with me, which was crazy because I threw you the ball for the and-one," Edwards said during the post-game conference, referring to Gobert, who was sitting next to him.

"I might be concussed, but I did see [the celebration]. I liked that," Gobert noted with a smile. "I was proud."

"My boy got and-one. I was just happy about that," Edwards went on to say.

Edwards potentially faces a fine of at least $25,000 for the celebration. This incident draws comparisons to an earlier fine imposed on Joel Embiid, who received a $35,000 monetary penalty for a similar gesture during an NBA game earlier in the season.
