"In Game 2, PAO played with more aggressiveness and energy. They reacted in the second game, now it's time for us to react. We allowed them a lot of points from second chance and we are better than that."
The coach also commented on the condition of the team's star, Wade Baldwin, who missed Game 2 after picking up a hamstring injury in Game 1, which Maccabi won in Athens.
"We have to wait until Tuesday, when he will undergo another MRI and we will know more," Kattash said.
"He had another treatment today, we will see how he feels after he practices and we'll have a better opinion."
"Wade's absence is significant," Kattash continued, "but I would feel more comfortable with a full roster, where we could spread the minutes. That means other players will have to share that work.
They have some players with experience who did some damage in Game 2, but we didn't break down mentally and found a way to come back. There was a feeling that they were more aggressive and all the 50-50 moments were on their side."
The 49-year-old tactician thinks "there's a reason why PAO finished 2nd in the regular season, they did good things. We need to be more aggressive. The fact that we also didn't go to the free-throw line that often is an indication of softness."
Kattash also referred to the Greeks' claims about the officiating, led by the team's coach Ergin Atman and the owner, Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
"I'm not surprised by the behavior of the people of Panathinaikos, but it doesn't affect me either," he stated.
"We have to concentrate on basketball and on a personal level I don't let it get to me, but it It doesn't surprise me. Let's hope the players will accept it in the same way."
