Los Angeles Lakers are considering drafting Bronny James in June to fulfill LeBron James' long-held desire to play alongside his son, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Jovan Buha, and Sam Amick.

Despite uncertainty surrounding LeBron's future with the Lakers following their elimination from the 2024 NBA Playoffs, The Athletic sources suggest he may play for up to two more seasons. James just finished his 21st NBA season.

Bronny James, who committed to the University of Southern California in 2023 after his high school stint at Sierra Canyon, faced a health scare in July 2023 when he suffered a cardiac arrest during practice. After a five-month hiatus, he returned to the court, inspiring talks about teaming up with LeBron.

Bronny announced earlier this month that he will enter the 2024 NBA Draft.

Meanwhile, LeBron currently holds a player option worth $51.4 million for the 2024-25 season. The Lakers are keen on retaining him and are reportedly willing to explore various options, including offering him a maximum three-year, $164 million extension.
