According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, as cited by Evan Sidery of Forbes, Garland's agency, Klutch Sports, will meet with the Cavaliers to discuss Garland's trade if Mitchell stays.

Garland has played with the Cavaliers since being drafted number 5 in 2019. On the other hand, Mitchell joined the team in 2022 and has quickly become the team's most important offensive weapon.

Darius Garland had signed a five-year contract worth $231 million with the Cavaliers in 2022. As for Mitchell, he has one more season remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $35.4 million, along with a player option for $37 million through the 2025-26 season.

Just a few days ago, it was also reported that Mitchell was being pursued by the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Brooklyn Nets for next season.

The Cavaliers were eliminated by the Boston Celtics 4-1 in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
