D'Angelo Russell was fined $25,000 for verbally abusing a referee, the NBA announced.

The incident occurred on the court after Game 5 of the series in Denver on April 29th.

Jamal Murray made a tough fadeaway jumper with 3.6 seconds remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter to give the Nuggets a two-point lead. With no timeouts remaining, the Lakers scrambled to get a shot off, but Taurean Prince's half-court attempt was stopped by the Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Some Lakers players protested the decision, calling for a foul.

It's not the first time Russell has been fined by the NBA this season. Back in January, he got fined $15,000 for kicking the game ball into the stands.
