The Denver Nuggets are staring at a 0-2 deficit in their Western Conference semifinals matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In Game 2, the Timberwolves came out the gates swinging, establishing a double-digit lead early to control the game.

Denver never really got into a rhythm as Minnesota blew the game wide open to eventually get the Game 2 win, even without Rudy Gobert.

Nuggets coach Mike Malone acknowledged how brutal it was, saying the Nuggets didn't have any answers for the Timberwolves at home.

"They kicked our a--. Yeah, it got away from us. It's going to be a challenge. The body language is not where I think it needs to be," Malone told reporters.

"We just got beat up in our building. We got embarrassed in front of our fans."

Denver only shot 35% from the field and had 19 turnovers. The defending champs were also outscored in the paint, 34-52.

“Their [defense] was too much to handle, we did our best but they penetrated us in every position. We need to make some adjustments next game," Malone said.
