"He hasn't been feeling comfortable at all with that rib contusion and that's an injury where anything you do on the basketball court. ... You feel it all the time," Charania said. "The word[s] I keep hearing [are] 'really uncomfortable.'"
"There hasn't been much optimism that he was going to play last night," he continued in reference to Game 1 of the series, which went the Celtics' way with a score of 120-95. "We'll see in the games to come if there is [optimism]."
Allen was also absent for Game 7 against the Orlando Magic. He was injured in his rib before that game.
He averaged 17 points (67.6% FG), 13.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1 block per game in the first 6 games of the series against the Magic.
