"Of the four duels, three were decided in Game 5, and the other pairing probably would not have ended 3-0 if the best player of Baskonia [Markus Howard] had not been injured," Rakocevic wrote.
The former shooting guard of Baskonia, Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda, who also spent the 2002-03 season with Minnesota, observed that the contests were characterized by "fantastic defense, a lot of tactics, fighting for every ball and a crowd that understands basketball and actively participates."
"Coaches who adapt tactics and changes on the fly, every minute," Rakocevic marveled.
"Involvement of all players from the bench, emotions, intensity. And on top of all that, two Final Four participants who secure passage in Game 5 on the road. The EuroLeague has been by far the best basketball in the world for some time," he argued.
The Final Four will be held from May 24 to 26 in Berlin, withPanathinaikos AKTOR Athens taking on Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in the first semi-final (18:00) and last year's finalists Real Madrid and Olympiacos Piraeus squaring off in the other pairing (21:00).
