WNBA may have another team added to its selection very soon from Canada.

According to CBC Sports, WNBA management awarded Kilmer Sports Inc. an expansion franchise for Toronto.

It is expected that an official announcement will be made on May 23, 2024.

Furthermore, a source of CBC Sports notes that the new team will have the Coca-Cola Coliseum as their home court.

Kilmer Sports Inc. is headed by Larry Tanenbaum, the chairman and the minority shareholder of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Toronto Raptors in the NBA.

If admitted, the team from Toronto will be the 14th team in the WNBA. Most recently, Golden State was accepted, and it is slated to join the league in 2025.
