With three Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and three Real Madrid players selected among the ten nominees, James thinks the fan voting part should be abolished.
"I'm sorry, fans shouldn't have a vote in [the All-]EuroLeague teams. Fans will vote for their teams and favorite players. It's not their job to be unbiased. They're supposed to be biased," James wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"So I think them voting has made some teams confusing in my opinion," James explained. "But whatever, real ones know."
Five of the Top 10 EuroLeague teams who made it into the postseason this year did not have a single player among the ten selected for the All-EuroLeague teams. At the same time, Olympiacos Piraeus became the first Final Four team not to have a player in at least the Second Team after such a nomination was introduced in the 2011-12 season.
Shane Larkin, who led the league in PIR and was 6th in points during the regular season, wasn't included in any of the two teams. Chima Moneke, a breakout Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz forward, and Keenan Evans, who's now widely regarded as one of the best guards in the league, were not included either.
Moneke openly bashed the selections in his Instagram story. "Whoever made these All-Euroleague teams should be ashamed of themselves," he posted.
