Baskonia submitted the proposal a couple of days ago, willing to improve the current deal the two sides signed back in October.
Howard was set to earn €3.7 million throughout the three seasons under the deal signed earlier this season, according to Carlos Pérez de Arrilucea from El Correo. Additionally, the buyout was set at an impressive €1.3 million.
This new deal will improve both financially for the player, increasing Howard's upcoming salary, and for the team, upping the buyout amount, Perez de Arrilucea reported.
Howard led the EuroLeague in scoring last season, averaging 19.5 points per game, while shooting three-pointers at 40%, making 3.8 of them per game.
Baskonia have previouslyextended the deal with forward Tadas Sedekerskis, keeping the player until 2029.
