As LeBron James made history and passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar forthe NBA's all-time scoring record, millions of people tuned in.

There were 3 million people watching the Lakers-Thunder contest, and the game peaked with 3.7 million viewers when LeBron hit therecord-breaking shot — making it the most-watched regular-seasongame on TNT in nearly five years (with the exception of openingnight).

However, most people were watching via social media. If you wereon Twitter or Instagram last night, there was no avoiding James'record-setting performance.

The NBA's social-media and digital platforms generated 225million video views on LeBron's record-setting evening, the mostever for a regular-season night.

The NBA racked up 164 million views on Instagram yesterday, which was the most-viewed account on the platform over that 24-hourperiod. Of those 164 million views on Instagram, LeBron-relatedcontent accounted for 138 million views.

James now has 38,390 career points. This season, LeBron isaveraging 30.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.2 threes and asteal, while shooting 50.8% from the field, 31.5% from three and76.4% from the free-throw line.
