Baskonia extend Markus Howard's contract through 2028 after his standout performance.

Scoring ace Markus Howard has signed a contract extension withBaskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, according to the official team's announcement. The new agreement extends his tenure through 2028.

Initially set to expire in June 2026 following a deal struck in October, both parties have opted to prolong the partnership by an additional two years.

The 25-year-old guard first arrived in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the summer of 2022.

Howardwon the EuroLeague Alphonso Ford Trophyfor the top scorer of the competition this season while setting a new scoring record. He was alsogranted to play for the Puerto Rican national team.

Howard led the EuroLeague in scoring in 2023-24, averaging 19.5 points per game, while shooting three-pointers at 40%, making 3.8 of them per game. He made at least 5 three-pointers 16 times while shattering the EuroLeague competition record with 148 three-pointers made for the season.

Baskonia have previouslyextended the deal with forward Tadas Sedekerskis, keeping the player until 2029.
