He noted that both the Lakers and Nets are prepared with offers in hand. Windhorst underlined, "I'm trying to walk the line, because I don't want anybody to freak out in my hometown of Cleveland, but there are a number of teams that have their offers ready."
When discussing the New York Knicks, Windhorst hinted at their focus on the current Eastern Conference series but suggested that interest might exist across town in Brooklyn.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are still in the playoffs but face a do-or-die Game 4 against the Boston Celtics, with Mitchell expected to miss the game due to a strained left calf.
Before his injury, Mitchell was averaging 29.6 points per game. He has one more season remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $35.4 million, along with a player option for $37 million through the 2025-26 season.
