Longtime NBA commentator and ESPN host Stephen A. Smith went on his YouTube channel and shared his thoughts on both candidates.
Smith admitted that Redick has a "brilliant basketball mind" but found it "more than a coincidence" that Redick is "doing that damn podcast together" with LeBron James.

As for Cassell, Smith said the former NBA player "has waited for years."
"[Cassell] is somebody that I think deserves this opportunity," said Smith.
In addition to Redick and Cassell, ESPN has reported that Chris Quinn, an assistant coach of the Miami Heat, is also being considered.
